One of my favorite humans lives in St. Louis! So when I had to go there for work I was actually pretty excited. St. Louis was nice but there were definitely a few places that had some edge. My advice always be aware of your surrounds. That being said here are a few great places to check out and get some great photos for your feed.
1. The St. Louis Arch
No shocker here it’s literally the most identifiable spots in the Lou! Located in Gateway National Arch Park. Photo taking tips if you want to get you and the Arc in the same photo change the perspective of your shot. Instead of shooting from the side shoot from the ground up. That also helps avoid all the other tourist being in your photo. Parking is also another thing to note. It was very difficult to find a parking spot. You may want to think about taking an Uber or Lyft to avoid the stress.
2. Ted Drewes
Ted Drewes is another St. Louis staple. Known for their frozen custard the owner Ted Drewes Sr was known for winning the Muny Tennis Championships. It’s pretty much a full-service Ice Cream parlor serving malts, concrete, floats, shakes, and sundaes. As far as photo ops the outside aesthetic is perfect for a nostalgic photoshoot.
3. Welcome To The Lou Mural
You always have to take a pic with the mural that says the cities name or did you even go? This one is located on the side of the Lou Realty Group’s office. They are super nice and will even repost your photo if you geotag them.
4. Sugarfine BBQ
Sugarfine is located in downtown St. Louis and the barbeque is decent but the sign is a great place to get your shots off. Sugarfine is really popular so expect a wait. They service buffet style and I loved that there were tons of sauce choices. This is another place where the parking is terrible, so uber is you can.
5. The Riverfront
Right near the St. Louis Arch was the riverfront and there were sooooo many places to get great photos down there. I got this cool shot near a moving train. There were so many choices and no need to move the car because its walking distance to Sugarfine.
6. Riches Shaved Ice
I LOVE shaved ice in Louisiana we call them snoballs (insert drool). Saw the Richies Cart while on the waterfront and could resist. Shaved ice is super photo-friendly especially if you get lots of cool colors.
Have you ever been to da Lou? What did you do?
