I had to work in London the week of thanksgiving. So, I decided instead of flying home I would just have a thanksgiving vacation in Italy. I’ve always wanted to visit Venice but after some research there weren’t that many things I wanted to do in Venice. So after some google searches of places close to Venice I decided to add the city of Verona to my trip. I’m so glad I went to Verona it was so beautiful and relaxing.
My Stay: (Airbnb)
I loved my Airbnb in Verona. It was modern, squeaky clean, and not far from all the city center. This time I rented the entire place. There was Wifi internet, Cable, Netflix, Hulu, and Prime. The host also included the usual tea and coffee.
The Experience
Juliet’s house
Juliet’s house was the reason I chose to stop in Verona. WARNING: The place gets really packed. Go EARLY! The courtyard was packed to capacity during my visit. Somehow, I managed to get a pic with Juliet’s statue. Touching her boob is supposed to be good luck in love. I can use all the love luck, so naturally I palmed that boobie lol! I’ll be honest the courtyard and the balcony were my favorite parts very romantic. Inside it was kind of dreary in my opinion. I took every opportunity to spark some love. I wrote a letter to Juliet and purchased a lock for the wall.
Castelvecchio Bridge
The Castelvecchio Bridge is a must see! It is stunning! Nice play to visit and even walk near the water if the weather is nice. It was raining my entire trip, but if it had been sunny I would have sat and journaled there.
Arena di verona
This is very Similar to the Roman colosseum. It is currently still used for entertainment events to this day. It’s a good place to immerse yourself in history.
Heart Of Verona
The Grub
Caffe Barbarani
The first night I ate at Caffe Barbarani I had the Carbonara. It was super salty!! wouldn’t recommend it. The place did have great customer service and the wine was delicious, but honestly it was raining and kind of chilly out so when I saw their heaters I was sold lol!
Liston
Liston was another restaurant I decided to check out. The view and the menu were the are the highlights here! I order the spaghetti and a glass of prosecco. The food, wine, and customer service was great! The view was amazing and if you enjoy people watching as much as I do, you’ll definitely enjoy your experience there.
Nightlife
I have no idea what the nightlife is like in Verona. I was so tired I sleep during the nights.
